National Art Center Tokyo

The National Art Center, Tokyo (NACT), designed by Kisho Kurokawa and Nihon Sekkei, is one of Japan’s largest exhibition venues, offering around 14,000 m² of adaptable, column-free space across 12 galleries, plus an art library, auditorium, restaurant, cafés and museum shop. Its iconic undulating glass façade leads into a dramatic atrium featuring two inverted-cone volumes, creating dynamic visual connections across multiple levels. NACT hosts rotating exhibitions spanning classic and contemporary art, manga, fashion and design. Situated in Roppongi among the “Art Triangle” of major Tokyo art institutions, NACT is widely celebrated for its flexible programming, architectural elegance and role in promoting art education and cross-cultural dialogue.
